boyfriend trend

Fashion trends are interesting.

Even though we’re fully aware that they change every season, we continue to shell out money for what’s “in”. It sounds negative when I put it that way, doesn’t it? Ironically, I don’t think it’s a bad thing. I love that we’re constantly exposed to new styles and given the opportunity to try them out for ourselves. Since I generally stick to basics, trendy pieces are a fun way to spice up my wardrobe.

Today I want to talk about “boyfriend jeans”.

This is one trend that I never saw myself wearing. They initially reminded me of the boys who used to sag their pants in high school, to be honest. Ew. But after seeing them worn on the runway, by my favorite bloggers, and by my friends, I decided to bite the bullet and try on a pair. The result?

1-Build Your Bliss6Uh huh, you guessed it…I loved them, bought them, and am already hunting for more.

The key to this trend is finding the ‘right’ pair which is all about trial and error. Do not, I repeat, do not order your first pair of boyfriend jeans online. Once you own them, the options are endless. They can be dressed up with heels, dressed down with flats, and worn with just about anything. Winning.

I found the pair above at Gap and I highly recommend looking there. Also, check out Old Navy, Urban Outfitters, American Eagle, Express, and Nordstrom (depending on your budget). Happy shopping!

Here’s to a brand new boyfriend…

      Yeeee! Thank you!
Come to California and we’ll shop! xoxo

  2. I’m a huge fan of boyfriend jeans, but I have yet to actually buy my own pair — Is that goofy? I don’t even know what I’m waiting for… I imagine they’re worlds more comfortable than our regular jeans. Maybe I should have just stolen a pair of my guy’s jeans the last time I saw him 😆

That’s exactly how I was! It took me forever to actually try on/buy a pair but I don’t think I’ll ever look back.

And um, yes. Just steal his jeans. Cheaper and oddly…sexy? haha.

You totally rock the boyfriend jeans look! I love the idea of dressing them up, especially for a more casual work look! 🙂

      Thank you!
And I do too! I think it’s really unexpected which is fun.

  5. I have a pair and I love them! I secretly love that they’re baggy because they make me feel skinnier 😉 They’re like the jean version of sweatpants. I call that a win.

Um, YES. I completely agree. haha.
Anything that feels like sweatpants and qualifies as ‘dress clothes’ is a winner in my book. (:

I used to be all about the tightest jeans ever but I’ve been eyeing the boyfriend jean trend for a while already and really want to try it! I love how it looks dressed up or down…very casual yet sexy. I just need to find the perfect pair!

That’s the key…I tried on quite a few unflattering pairs before I found the right ones. Definitely check them out though! I think you’ll fall in love. (:

  7. I think only certain types can wear them because the way my body is shaped it’ll just make me look like a homeless boy. hahaha looks great on you though!

I love jeggings but I have a pair of boyfriend fit jeans that I love. I like the look of distressed boyfriend jeans, especially how you wore them with booties!

      Thank you!
I’ve fallen in love with distressed jeans recently. They’re so fun! I actually don’t think I own any jeggings– I’ll have to try some on next time I’m shopping!
