round 2

My productivity level has been off the charts lately. It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you’re not waking up at 3:30am and averaging 40+ hours of work per week. It’s like rediscovering life.

This weekend ‘life’ included sleeping in, crossing a handful of things off of my career to-do list, game/taco night with friends, training for my new position at work, and even going to the gym (once).

LionelsleepingGameNightI mentioned in my last update post that I’m working on getting back into the entertainment industry. I’m still planning to do an entire post dedicated to the topic but I’m going to give it another week or two- there’s still a lot of preparatory work to be done. I will say this though; I’m doing it for me this time around. I’m not doing it for money, success, my parents, my peers, or my image- I’m doing it because acting and modeling brings me a sense of joy and excitement that nothing else compares to.

When I decided to take a break back in January, I told myself that I never had to go back. I left the doors of opportunity wide open and just let the universe do it’s thing…and this is where I ended up.

Pretty ironic, eh?

So, now I’m working my butt off to get the ball rolling again. There are people to meet, pictures to take, books to read, classes to attend, and unfortunately none of that is cheap…but I’m ready for it.

f828627df25d8710a50b8142c6ab8e43Things are so much clearer when our thoughts, feelings, and actions are all working together as one. So, trust in the journey and listen to your heart. Don’t let people or circumstances dictate your happiness. Your bliss is all your own and you deserve a life that’s filled with it.

Here’s to round 2…

  2. Congratulations! Yay to realizing true passions! I’m kind of in the same place — I took a year off from the writing industry to try other things, and I’m right back where I started, ready to do what I truly love. It takes a lot of work, but it’s worth it!

  9. In the 30+ years I’ve been an actor, I’ve taken long breaks every few years. Back in the day it was a “never again” promise, but now it’s an understanding that you seem to have come to. (I’m coming off one of those myself, too.)

Thank you, Lynn. I can’t begin to tell you how much better I feel after reading that. This business is tough (understatement) and I think taking a break was exactly what I needed. And thank you for constantly inspiring me to keep going!
